Paris, the most visited city in the world is inhabited by about 3 million people in the city and 10 million people in the suburbs. It is the financial and cosmopolitan hub of France. Dubbed as the most romantic city and the fashion capital of the world, Paris is truly a traveler’s paradise. The monuments, art galleries, and museums reflect the cultural heritage and historical importance of Paris.

At least a week’s stay is needed to justify all the important places in Paris. You can stay in a hotel or rent an apartment for the duration of your stay. Three star hotels generally charge around $200-$300 a night, and the charges could climb steadily up to $3000- $4000 a night for a five star hotel. Renting an apartment for a short term would work out to be cheaper and it has added advantages like more room space and high levels of privacy.

Paris is filled with numerous must see places. The Eiffel tower is one of the tallest structures in the world and the best known landmark of Paris. Les catacombs consist of dirt filled tunnels that contain exhumed bones from the Paris cemetery. The Chateau de Versailles was the palace of King Louis XIV. The palace is a visual treat and gives an insight into the opulence enjoyed by the royal class. Famous Cathedrals include the Sainte Chapelle, Notre Dame Cathedral and the Basilica of the Sacré C’ur. The Notre Dame Cathedral inspired Victor Hugo to write the novel “The Hunch Back of Notre Dame.”

A trip to Paris is not complete without seeing the famed museums of Paris. The Louvre museum is one of the ancient and finest museums. It is the place where the renowned portrait of Mona Lisa is kept. Other important museums and art galleries include Picasso museum, Rodin museum, Invalides, Centre Georges Pompidou and Musée d’Orsay. The zoological park and Disney land are also worth paying a visit.

Getting around in Paris is not all that difficult. You can choose a convenient mode of transport. Paris is well connected to the rest of Europe by train and road. Eurolines is Trans European bus service facility that tourists find very useful. There are three international airports in Paris; Charles de Gaulle International Airport, Orly International Airport and Beauvais. If like to walk there isn’t a better place than Paris. Walking can be a pleasant and relaxing activity in Paris. You can also rent a bicycle or taxi, or choose the metro rail system to take in the sights.
